Song C. Godwin - MA, CAC III, DABFC, is the Owner/Director of Right Avenue Counseling. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado and holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology, Certified Colorado Addictions Counselor (CAC III), Approved Domestic Violence Provider, and a Diplomat of the American Board of Forensic Counselors. She has been trained in the “Driving With Care" Level II Alcohol Education and Therapy program, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Strategies for Self-Improvement and Change), and has designed and implemented gender specific groups for anger management, domestic violence, relapse prevention, and women’s issues groups. Song has been counseling since 1996.
John A. Nelson - MA, CAC III, is a graduate of Jackson State University, Jackson, MS and holds a BS Degree in Psychology, graduate of Washington University, St. Louis MO and holds a MA Degree in Clinical Psychology, Certified Colorado Addictions Counselor (CAC III). He has been trained in the “Driving With Care" Level II Alcohol Education and Therapy program, Motivational Interviewing, Multi System Approach, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Strategies for Self-Improvement and Change). He has worked in the Mental Health and Substance Abuse field at the Federal, State, Local, and Private levels.
Jan Sweeney - MA, CAC III, is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego, CA and holds a BS Degree in Education, Master of Ministry Degree, and is Certified Colorado Addictions Counselor (CAC III). She has been trained in the “Driving With Care" Level II Alcohol Education and Therapy program. Jan has several years experience working in the private sector and expresses deep compassion and concern for those she works with in and outside group sessions. Setting Jan apart is her earnest desire to lead clients in discovering core beliefs they have about themselves and their situation. She guides her clients in examining options for resolving their current situation and learning new behaviors and beliefs. She enjoys the challenge of counseling as well as witnessing the changes and growth clients make as they go through the counseling process.
John Cupich - MA, CAC II, is a graduate of Colorado Christian University and holds a MA in Counseling, and is Certified Colorado Addictions Counselor (CAC II). John has experience working as a therapist for RSA, INC, WINGS, INC, Counselors On Call, and Homebase, TCS. John has worked as Chaplain and leader of "Spirituality in the Workplace" Committee @ Porter Adventist Hospital and Centura Homecare and Hospice. John's counseling interests are working in groups and individually with adults, adolescents and children, addiction recovery, sexual abuse, grief, and healing & recovery with offense specific behaviors. John has raised 2 teenage children and lived in Colorado since 2003.
Maggie Raulerson joins the Right Avenue Counseling team and fills the role of victim advocate. She recognizes and is most sensitive to the rights and interests of crime victims offering them compassion and in-depth knowledge of available community resources.
Isaac Archuleta - BA, is a graduate from the University of Colorado, where he earned a BA in Psychology. After graduating in 2006, he worked as a Child Protection Family Therapist, dealing specifically with families and abuse issues. Currently he strives to complete a Masters degree from Denver Seminary in Community Counseling. Isaac has chosen Right Avenue Counseling due to his high regard for people and their healthy well-being. He enjoys being part of the change-process and sharing in all the victories clients experience.
Stephen Swihart - BS, CAC III, is a graduate of Calvary Bible College in Kansas City Missouri where he earned a B.S. degree in Biblical Studies and received a Graduate Certificate from Denver Seminary in Theology. Steve is a Certified Addiction Counselor Level III and has been trained to teach the Colorado Impaired Driver Education Program. Stephen has been employed with the Denver Rescue Mission since 1998 and serves as the Senior Chaplain in the mission’s New Life Program, a long-term rehabilitation program for men.
